18 December 2024 – New Zealand
Neighbourhood Support Tāmaki Makaurau has grown significantly over the past year!
With support from four local boards initially (Albert-Eden, Puketāpapa, Ōrākei and Howick), we now have activators in each of these areas, extending our reach into community.
Additionally, our member organisations across Tāmaki Makaurau (Waitematā, Akl Central and Counties) are thriving and it has been a year of connection and collaboration.
We recognise the importance of bringing people together, not only to thank them for their mahi but to also acknowledge the integral Partnerships we have with NZ Police, AEM, FENZ, Auckland Council and Local Board representatives.
On Thursday 5th December we hosted a Christmas themed morning tea, providing opportunity for our member organisations and partners to network and share experiences around these mutually beneficial relationships.
The morning was a huge success in the magnificent Ōrākei Community Building, generously made available by the Ōrākei Local Board, generating delightful feedback from attendees.
We have no doubt this will become an annual event as the perfect opportunity for people to reconnect and catch up with acquaintances they hadn’t seen in person for a long time.
A perfect reminder as to the importance of making time to connect with the city so big and all of us so busy.
Thank you to everyone who attended, we wish you a safe and restful holiday season and look forward to seeing you again next year.
Kia haumaru, kia kaha, kia kotahi hoki ngā hapori. Creating safe, resilient, and connected communities.
